Milagro x Cole pups 1 1/2 weeks
This litter is being such a treat! They are all happy and healthy and look like little walruses.
Milagro is being the best mom and I find it so fascinating that even tho Milagro didn't have the traditional mothering when she was born she is truly tuned into her pups. Nature and instincts are amazing!!!

Ella ~ 2011 AKC Invitational
The Invitational is one of my favorite of the big agility events because you get to see pretty much ALL the breeds compete. It's a long haul to get invited and this is the second year in a row that Masher and Ella were in the top 5 in their breed and were invited.
This year it was in Florida and what a journey it was getting qualified and getting there. I had a BLAST!!!
Daneen and Ella have come a long way and are becoming a better team.
It was interesting as we took a "contender" and an "underdog" to compete. You have to pretty much have 4 clean rounds and no E's to make it in the finals. Masher and Daneen had an oopsie in round two. Daneen left Masher in the weaves and went to her front cross position. Masher didn't read it and took an off course jump. Daneen stopped and looked around for her little dog. Masher then ran up in front of her and started to jump up. She reached down patted him with both hands like " Oh, There you are… Come on Mushy,,, Let's go" and she got and E. 🙁 The rest of Masher's runs were FAST and clean. Next year Mushy!!!
To run in the finals you have to wear black pants. By day 2 Masher was already out of the running but Ella had 2 clean rounds. By the end of day 2 Ella now had 4 clean rounds!!! I asked Daneen if she had brought her black pants for the finals. It was the sweetest thing. She did pack her black pants just in case she needed them for Ella even tho she knew Masher was already out of the finals!!! It brought a tear to my eye! That really meant alot to me.
Watching Daneen and Ella walk up to the start line of the finals for the Invitational is one of my best memories. What a flippin thrill!!!!! Win, lose or draw Ella laid it down and was there in the finals!!!
They had a little oopsie but I was so proud of both of them!!!! Ella did her teeters, stayed in the weaves and made her contacts… I know I know Daneen did babysit the contacts 🙂 But she DID them!!!!
Ella won second place in the the Non Sporting group, Number one Dalmatian and went into the finals sitting in 6th place. Not too shabby!!!
Teeter, teeter , teeter…. Good girl Ella!!!
TOUCH!!!!
Back at the hotel room for a well deserved rest!
The Dalmatians were very well represented this year!!!

Sugar Happens….
Warning this might be a little wordier than my usual posts 🙂
We have had house guests for a few weeks and they are both pretty horrified at the potty mouths here….
They have been trying to get us to use "Oh Sugar" and " Flip" instead of the usual suspect words here. Were are trying … REALLY !!!!
This post begins around the begining of Dec. I was in Texas picking up Shimmer from her breeder and as I am at the airport boarding the plane to come home I get a call from our kennel that Cole is down and throwing up and won't eat. Panic sets in. I call Daneen and tell her to get in touch with the girls and to get Cole to the vet asap. Bloat was the first thing that came to mind. Daneen is over an hour away and is teaching and has at least 3 more classes. The thought of losing Cole is horrific.
I board the plane and I am very worried. The hours went so slowly. I was having to calm myself down as the fear and dread rose. This continued until I just finally said out loud that I trust the Universe and everything happens for my greater good.
When I landed I called Daneen and she said Cole was never in distress and he seemed fine. I got home and went and checked on him. He seemed like his normal perfect little Colieness. What the Flip??? That is really weird!?!?!?
The next morning when I let Cole and his yardmate, Milagro, out to their yard I noticed that Milagro was in season.(I then put Milagro in another yard as I have been waiting to do this breeding with Cole and Milagro for 5 years …. but not now. Waiting another year or so would be perfect.)
NOW it ALL made sense. Cole was EXHAUSTED from trying to breed Milagro ALL day!!!!
Now we jump to the end of Jan. – I was out with the dogs and Milagro looks a little puffy to me. Hmmmm… So I take her in for an x-ray and low and behold we see 5 little Cole babies in there.
Well there it is – The end of my perfect record for ZERO ooopsie breedings 🙁
I am so careful with girls in season. Milagro must have ovulated on day 2 or a split heat or something weird!
Luckily it is a breeding I was planning on doing in the future just not so soon.
Oh and when your dogs are being kinda naughty and you say " Hey quit being such a little flipper" it really does not have the same impact.
